Preparing for
your Headshot

Get ready for your headshot session with tips on what to wear, how to prepare, and how to feel confident in front of the camera.

What to Wear for your Headshot

Outfit
Stick to solid colors—both neutral/muted tones (creams, gray, browns, pastels) and rich tones (navy, forest green, burgundy, etc.) can look flattering. Avoid bold patterns, logos, or graphic prints.
Hair
Style your hair the way you normally wear it when you’re heading out for the day or going to an audition. For medium to long hair, soft waves can add natural texture and movement. Avoid anything dramatically different unless it’s been tested.
Makeup
If you’d like to wear makeup, keep it natural and close to your everyday look. A matte foundation or powder to reduce shine, defined brows, eyeliner or mascara, and a natural lip color are all great choices.

On the Day

- We’ll meet at the agreed location. Please arrive camera-ready.
- I’ll guide you through natural posing and expression—no need to worry if you’re not used to being in front of the camera. I’ve got you!
- Sessions typically last 30–45 minutes and include 1 outfit change if desired.
- Most importantly, come ready to have fun—we’ll create something great together!

After the Session

- Within 5 days, you’ll receive a private online gallery of lightly edited proofs to review and select from.
- Your session fee includes two professionally retouched images. Additional retouched images are available for $30 each. Alternatively, you can purchase the entire gallery for an additional $125.
- Your final, retouched images will be delivered within one week in high-resolution JPEG format, suitable for both web and print. If you need a specific crop (e.g. specific dimensions, etc.), just let me know.
- Please note: Raw or unedited files are not released.

Photo Usage

You are welcome to use your final images for personal and professional purposes—resumes, LinkedIn, websites, portfolios, etc. For commercial use (e.g., advertising), additional licensing is required.
Optional but appreciated: If you share your photos on social media, please tag @bonnieleungphotography on Instagram or Facebook. Thank you for the love!

Hydrate & Rest: Drink plenty of water the day before and get a good night’s sleep. It really makes a difference!
